More than 1.3 million Brits holiday in Benidorm every year, which in itself is a good recommendation. And the beautiful golden sands of its beaches are rated among the best in Europe with their promenades boasting cafes, bars and decking in funky colours and designs. The shopping scene is also something special catering for the shoppers’ every taste, need and want. With restaurants providing food for every palate, markets selling antiques and curios’, and the sizzling night-life to tempt you out after dark, it is literally the holiday-makers paradise. And if that wasn’t tempting enough there are a myriad of cheap hotels in Benidorm to help you and your family holiday in style without breaking the bank. The Ambassador Hotel in Benidorm is one such hotel.
This 3 star hotel is one and a half hours from the airport and is situated
a mere 250 metres from Levante beach and 15 metres from the local bars,
nightclubs and restaurants. The hotel itself is split into two sections,
the first of which has 240 rooms, and the second having 220, all of
which are spread out over 6 floors serviced by elevators. This makes
the rooms easily accessible to those who may otherwise have difficulty
maneuvering stairs, or families with young children in prams or buggies.
From the outside the hotel looks contemporary with large windows and
clean lines. Inside however, it feels a lot more traditional.
The entertainment at the Ambassador Hotel in Benidorm is varied with its 2 bars/lounges and the Western bar with nightly shows and dancing. Guests can eat in the buffet style restaurant which also provides Christmas and New Year’s gala dinners. One of the two swimming pools at the hotel is heated and covered over making it possible to swim in comfort even during the colder months, and during the high season there is a pool bar. There is also a children’s section of swimming pool so that the youngsters can have fun splashing around too.
The fitness centre at the hotel is managed separately although guests
get 50% discount on the entrance fee. The fitness suite sports a Turkish
bath, ice patio, indoor plunge pool, whirlpool bath, gym and sauna.
Massage therapy, beauty treatments and a solarium are also available
along with use of 2 pool tables and table tennis.
The rooms at the hotel have either a terrace or balcony so the guests
can enjoy their morning coffee enjoying the scenery. The bedrooms are
all of a classic design with tiled floors and white walls helping to
keep it as cool as possible during the hotter months with the help of
the air-conditioning. All rooms are equipped with satellite TV’s
and the standard rooms have a minimum of two or three beds making them
ideal for families.
Reviews on the Ambassador Hotel in Benidorm are varied
and while the majority of guests would recommend the hotel to others,
there are a few who say it was too noisy. The good comments definitely
outweigh the bad though and this hotel gets a big thumbs up.
